Spring 2010

Tomorrow, April 10th, is the Fair in the Square in Shrewsbury.  The forcast is good, so I hope to see old and new customers mooching around in the sunshine! see you there.

On sunday I shall be in Much Wenlock under the Guildhall with my glass.  This weekend sees the first Wenlock Poetry Festival.  Carol Ann Duffy will be there as the patron, and many other exciting poets will be reading at various venues.  This promises to be an interesting occasion in Wenlock and the predicted sunshine will surely make for a great weekend!

Blue with green credentials

The plate shown is made from a wine bottle. I thought this could be an interesting idea for recycling wine bottles, especially if one wanted to keep a couple of bottles as a memento of a special occasion! The energy used is minimal as my kiln is lined with a space-age fibre and fires in about 40 minutes.

Purple haze

For spring 2010 I have been inspired by purple. So as well as some completely new designs, I have the old favourites in new colourways. So far this year I have done two fairs - both outdoors, both freezing cold - so hopefully spring is just around the corner and by the time of my next outing on Saturday, 6 March in Broseley, the weather will have taken a turn for the better.

Fair in the Square

The first outing for 2010 is the monthly Fair in the square with Made in Shropshire, this will be on saturday Jan 9th.  I have some new plaques to show, one is an order, they are very interesting and this is a new direction for me. See you then!

December 2009

December was very busy, thank you for all your support over the past year.  2010 looks as if it will be equally busy with new shows and some new designs I'm working on.  As soon as the diay for the next few months is sorted out it will be here on the blog.

Events past and future

It was good to catch up with old customers at Showing Off in Ludlow recently, and to meet so many new people who showed great interest in my glass. Thanks to everyone!

Great Witley Village Hall. 10.00 a.m. - 4 p.m. Saturday, 21 November. All proceeds go to charity.

Gorgeousness

On Monday, I am off to South Africa for two weeks so my husband, Bernard, will be looking after my stand at "Gorgeous", the flagship exhibition of the Shropshire Guild of Contemporary Craft, held at Enginuity, Coalbrookdale on Saturday and Sunday, 10 and 11 October.

Visitors will be able to view and buy or commission original craft work of the highest quality. Also there will be many of the region's top food and drink producers in association with Heart of England Fine Foods. Well worth a visit!
